Sunshine Coast Smart City Framework and Implementation Plan 2022-2025
Planning for development of open space containing smart technologies is informed by Implementation Plan at a higher level. This category links the above document with the LIM to ensure consideration of desired outcomes for open space in the implementation of smart technologies. As an overarching category, it should be read when planning open space embellishments. Use of smart technologies which supports improved sustainability outcomes for open space is encouraged, in appropriate locations.
- The framework identifies the elements necessary to achieve a successful and integrated program of digital solutions and services for the region to:
- Improve asset use and maintenance.
- Support enhanced data collection and real-time/historical insights for improved decision making.
- Support enhanced service delivery, scheduling and responses.
- Help design better public spaces and create cleaner, more liveable urban areas.
The Sunshine Coast Smart Infrastructure Manual (SIM) and attachments provide guidance during the design, development and delivery of council controlled digital infrastructure to promote quality, compliance and sustainability, minimise ongoing maintenance and ensure longevity.
Site decisions
All decisions, including the location of the embellishment and related infrastructure, must be made in conjunction with council (determined by site location), including officers from such areas as:
- Council (Smart City Framework)
- Council (Parks and Gardens)
- Council (Environmental Operations)
