Best practice guidance for the placement and arrangement of embellishments

Site setout

  • Compliance with AS/NZS 3000 (incorporating Amdt 1 and Amdt 2) – Electrical Installations (known as the Australian/New Zealand Wiring Rules).
  • Compliance with AS/NZS 1428.2 – Design for access and mobility Part 2: Enhanced and additional requirements – Buildings and facilities.

Clearances

  • Clearances as required by Australian Standards for:
    • Switchboards
    • Electrical outlets
    • Access and mobility for power switches
    • Activation buttons
    • Display lights, such as lift direction arrows.

Any variations to these standards must be approved in writing by council prior to commencement of variation works. Components of this document may be used within a contract document but users should undertake their own investigations to confirm the information is suitable for this purpose.
