Best practice guidance for the placement and arrangement of embellishments
Site setout
- All irrigation components installed in turfed areas shall be flush with the finished ground level.
- Irrigation systems are to be installed so as to provide uniform water distribution to the specific area.
Parks and gardens
- In normal weather conditions, overspray is not to affect pathways, seating areas, bicycle rails or other council infrastructure.
- Where possible, valve boxes and associated components are to be installed in garden beds.
Sports grounds
- Sprinkler heads should be positioned in a linear pattern to minimise potential damage during turf maintenance activities, such as aerating and top dressing.
- Irrigation system main lines are not to cross playing surfaces
- Valves for sports field use are to be installed outside of the of the playing surface.
