Embellishments should be designed/selected and installed as follows:
Fit for purpose, appropriately positioned and accessible.
Durable, robust and safe (suitable for corrosive environments).
Vandal resistant with parts that are easily replaceable.
Easy to maintain (with appropriate warranty and workmanship).
Comply with relevant standards, legislation, corporate documents and approvals
Planning, design and positioning
Signage should form part of a suite/family of signs with a clear and consistent message
Signage should consider appropriate positioning nearby embellishments and at key destination points. Refer individual sign type for further guidance.
Convey messages on a single sign rather than multiple signs, where possible. Consider incorporating existing multiple signs on site, into a new single sign.
Council corporate style templates must be used unless otherwise approved
refer 'Technical drawings and artwork templates' table within each sign in LIM Signage - Suite of signs for individual artwork templates and sample templates pertaining to each sign type.
incorporate First Nations people acknowledgement where applicable (refer Artwork templates for approved wording and appropriate use guidance)
all new signs must have a GPS (global positioning system) location recorded, mapped an provided to the Council Geospatial data team
